Shashwath TR is the Co-founder and CEO of Mindgrove Technologies who recently launched India’s first indigenously designed commercial high-performance MCU – ‘Secure-IoT’ – a 700MHz chip designed for IoT devices that delivers 70% of high-end features and costs 30% less than its competitors’ products. They have also recently received official approval from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) under the Semiconductor Design Linked Incentive (DLI) for the development of its second chip — ‘Vision SoC’ designed for applications and devices whose functions involve identifying and processing video information.

Shashwath has a 17-year work experience as an Electronics Engineer in devices for varied industries such as nuclear, oil and gas, aerospace, etc. He finished his Bachelor of Engineering (BE), Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from SRM Engineering College.

He has 14 years of experience as a Software Engineer at Lucid Software Limited, Chennai. During his 14 year stint at Lucid, Shashwath developed specialised ultrasound devices, drivers and computer vision algorithms for the nuclear, oil and gas and the aerospace industry. He is an expert in systems engineering, signal processing and machine vision software.

Shashwath loves building from scratch and believes in the “learning by doing” philosophy. He learnt to write software as a child, cross-trained with electronics in college and has been tinkering with devices since then. His interests lie in everything that makes modern electronics work – software, hardware and the human in the loop.
