Shri. Priyank Kharge currently serves as the Minister for IT/BT, Rural Development, and Panchayat Raj in the Karnataka government. Under his leadership, the state has formulated several policies and frameworks related to the Indian IT and GCC sectors. He has been elected three times as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing the Chittapur Constituency in Kalaburagi District. Kharge began his political journey with the National Students’ Union of India in 1998 and has held various leadership positions within the Congress party. In 2016, he became the youngest minister in Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s cabinet and remains the youngest minister in the state assembly. He has also served as the Minister of Social Welfare in the coalition government led by H.D. Kumaraswamy.
