Narasimha is a hands-on data science leader with 18+ years of experience. As head of data science group at MakeMyTrip-GoIbibo group, he is solving multiple business problems using AI/ML, in travel e-commerce space. Narasimha’s expertise and success stories are in ranking, recommendation systems, pricing, risk modeling, deep learning representation learning, bayesian methods, causal ML systems, NLU and marketing data science. He also dabbled with marketing mix modelling, causal attribution modelling and linear and combinatorial optimization problems. He has also created multiple data science powered products within MakeMyTrip-GoIbibo over the past 3-4 years. These products and AI systems have brought multi-million dollar impact to the business.
To maximize ROI from data science products in e-commerce, he and his team imbibe best practices in model dev, MLops, data engineering systems and data drift monitoring systems. With this attitude, he is pushing data science projects to be real/semi-real time learning blocks or inch towards continual learning systems. He and his team have built an in-house platform which has enabled product managers and data scientists to run continuous experiments for data driven decision selections. This platform selects decisions using reinforcement learning contextual bandits and off-policy evaluation frameworks.
Prior to MakeMyTrip, as partner Kantar data science practise, he delivered diverse set of data science solutions for BFSI, CPG, e-commerce, telecom, travel, entertainment, pharma and other domains. He has extensively used statistical, econometric modelling, optimization methods and NLU techniques to generate multi-million dollar revenue.
