Mr. Avinash Samrit is the Country Head for India and President of the Global Capability Center at Clean Harbors, the world’s leading environmental services company headquartered in Boston, USA. He has been instrumental in driving exponential growth for the company’s IT and shared services global capability center in India over the past five years. Under his leadership, Clean Harbors India was recognized as a winner in the NASSCOM GCC Awards and Zinnov Awards for the year 2023.
Before joining Clean Harbors, Mr. Samrit served as the Managing Director for Harsco, a US-based multinational company, where he successfully built and led the Global Innovation Park in Hyderabad. Prior to this role, he played a pivotal role in establishing the Singapore business unit of Cyient. Mr. Samrit boasts a distinguished career with accomplishments at esteemed organizations including Satyam, Tech Mahindra, and VGL, both domestically and internationally. With over 30 years of global experience, he has been a driving force in developing businesses spanning IT, Engineering, and various shared services sectors. Additionally, Mr. Samrit actively participates in industry associations such as NASSCOM and HYSEA.
Mr. Samrit is passionate about nurturing local talent and providing them opportunities on global platforms and is actively engaged in several social initiatives.
Mr. Samrit was awarded the ‘Corporate Excellence Award’ by Asian Business Federation and ‘Best New Offshore Shared Service Center’ award by HYSEA. Mr. Samrit’s paper on “Leveraging Information Technology for Organizational Resilience” has been widely acclaimed on international forums.
A gold medalist in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nagpur, he has also done CDAC’s diploma in Advance Computing and an Executive Management Certification from Columbia Business School, New York.
Mr. Samrit is an avid music lover with an interest in Indian Classical and Western music and aspires to set up his Rock band on retirement. He lives in Hyderabad with his wife Roopali, who is an entrepreneur and IT professional along with their son Arya.
