Ashish is a seasoned agri-business leader having extensive experience in sales, marketing, product development and manufacturing that spans global markets and diverse cultures. Currently, Ashish is CEO – UPL SAS. As the Regional director of India, Ashish headed the UPL Agro Formulations business in India, where his energetic leadership saw the business doubled in merely 24 months. Prior to heading the largest and fastest growing India business; Ashish had successfully established the rare foreign JV in Japan named – Hodagaya UPL. He was the business head for this market leader brand of Japan that catered to the domestic market as well as other countries’ demand.
Earlier, as the business head for China, Hongkong & Taiwan; Ashish had played the key role in setting up two successful subsidiaries in China and gave UPL the distinction of being the only Indian brand selling in China. He prepared for the China centric sojourn by managing dual roles as – Global Demand Planning & Budgeting Head and Region Head for – China, Middle East and Turkey, before heading the China Business.
Ashish was also the sales lead in Arysta LifeScience integration – a remarkable global deal in the agriculture sector. He was also part of the central strategy team and M&A team that envisaged Cerexagri acquisition. Under Product Development, he had led the Product, Registration and Field R&D divisions that
developed paddy herbicide (Saathi), wheat herbicides (Total and Sf-10). Ashish was also part of the Product Development team in the Europe region. Prior to joining UPL, he was the business head Nepal for Dabur Honey division.
Ashish brings in around two decades of rich experience with graduation in Horticulture, Masters in Entomology and MBA in Marketing. He is an active sports person and an avid fitness enthusiast. In his leisure time, he loves to run and trek in nature.
