Karthik Ramgopal is a Distinguished Engineer and the uber tech lead of the product engineering team at LinkedIn. Leading a team of approximately 5,200 engineers, he is responsible for building and operating all member- and customer-facing products at the company. With about 15 years of experience in software development, design, and architecture, Karthik has worked across both product and application infrastructure teams.
A full stack engineer by background, Karthik’s core expertise spans large-scale backend and distributed systems, mobile and web applications, low-level application infrastructure, and, more recently, generative AI products and infrastructure. He plays a key role in steering several internal design and review committees, actively shaping LinkedIn’s technical vision and strategy. While providing leadership at scale, Karthik remains a hands-on builder, directly contributing to code and design in projects where deep technical involvement is required.
