As the CEO at Wadhwani AI, Shekar Sivasubramanian (Shekar) brings 40 years of global applied technology and management experience towards creating positive and sustainable

impact at scale; he is currently driving the organisation’s efforts towards establishing AI- driven solutions and ecosystems for the benefit of millions across the developing world.

Shekar started work in the Indian software industry when it had fewer than 1,000 employees, and found an early passion for using applied computer engineering to solve large-scale, real-world problems. He complemented his passion for complex problem-solving with his research bent of mind, and collaborated as an Applied Scientist in Information Retrieval and Artificial Intelligence at Carnegie Mellon University for 20 years.

His technical expertise, large scale implementation experience and business acumen have enabled him to scale multiple companies, from the ground up, to billion-dollar-plus valuations.

He holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Bombay, and an MBA in Finance from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, U.S.
