Sankara began his career with American Express in New York in 1998 when he joined the Small Business Risk Management team. Since then, he has held first-line roles of increasing responsibilities in credit risk management
While in New York till 2017, his responsibilities over time spanned virtually all functions of risk management across customer life cycle – from acquisition & new accounts onboarding to customer management to recoveries
He re-located to India in 2017 to lead the Global Customer Management Decision Sciences teams including the AI/ML Labs team
In 2018, he became the head of the CFR-CoE. Throughout his career Sankara has been a keen learner and has gained deep experience in card risk management and leading large analytical teams
