    About

    Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Gupta's leadership journey began in public service. A topper of the 1998 Indian Statistical Service (ISS) batch, he spent a decade in the Government of India, serving as Director and Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation and the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. During this period, he played a pivotal role in establishing the Special Secretariat Service (SSS) cadre, strengthening national health programmes such as NRHM and RCH Phase II, and setting up the National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC).

    Building on this strong policy foundation, Mr. Gupta transitioned to the private sector, where he held leadership roles at IBM, Accenture, and Microsoft. Across these global technology companies, he led initiatives in digital transformation, public sector consulting, enterprise strategy, and technology-enabled governance, gaining extensive experience at the intersection of policy, business, and innovation.

    In 2018, he became Managing Director & CEO of Lahari, a Government of India-promoted Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) cluster in Mysuru. There, he successfully built and scaled thriving electronics manufacturing ecosystem, demonstrating his ability to create institutions and foster industry-led growth.     Since 2022, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Gupta has been serving as the Chief Executive Officer of the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM), working closely with the Department of Electronics, IT, BT and S&T, Government of Karnataka, industry leaders, startups, and global investors. Under his leadership, KDEM continues to drive Karnataka's digital economy through strategic initiatives in Global Capability Centres (GCCs), IT/ITES, Innovation & Startups, Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM), Talent Acceleration, and the Beyond Bengaluru initiative, strengthening the state's leadership in India's digital economy while expanding growth across emerging technology clusters.
