As AI continues to revolutionize industries, understanding the different interaction
models between humans and AI becomes essential. This talk explores the spectrum
of collaboration setups, from AI-only to human-only systems, and intermediate
models like AI-first with human oversight and human-first with AI support.
Using examples from Elsevier, such as data extraction from scientific literature, we
will discuss factors influencing design choices, including task complexity, risk, and
data quality. By the end of the session, attendees will have gained insights into
optimizing AI-human collaboration to drive innovation and efficiency.
